“A Farewell to Arms” is a semi-autobiographical novel written by Ernest Hemingway concerning events of the Italian campaign during World War One. It is a first-person account of American Frederick Henry, who is serving as a lieutenant in the Italian Army ambulance corps.
The novel was first published in 1929, and adapted to film in 1932.
